Thank you for your interest in serving as a MashUp Village Keeper. Village Keepers are members of our board who help guide the organization, support its mission, and bring their experience, relationships, and care for community to the work.
Our Mission and Community: MashUp advances health equity by centering Black queer liberation and building unapologetic, identity-driven care systems shaped by our community. Wholeness is our path to healing.
Who Can Apply: While MashUp prioritizes Black queer people in Middle Tennessee, all are welcome to apply, regardless of background or location. Village Keepers do not have to live in Middle Tennessee. We are committed to a diverse board and to an inclusive, equitable environment consistent with MashUp's Non-Discrimination Policy.
What We Are Looking For in This Cycle: We are prioritizing applicants with fundraising experience. Previous board experience is preferred, but not required. Community knowledge, leadership, professional skills, and a willingness to contribute are also valued.
Village Keeper Commitments: Village Keepers attend four quarterly board meetings, virtually or in person, and serve on a committee. They must also participate in two annual events: MashUp Weekend and the Leadership Retreat. Additional meetings may be called as needed.
Each Village Keeper also commits to fundraising or donating at least $2,000 annually to MashUp, or providing 50 hours of skilled labor in a annual period.
Application Timeline Please apply by Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Applications are processed on a rolling basis, and all applicants will receive a final decision in November. For questions or assistance, contact our Chief Village Keeper Eric L. Cox by emailing: chiefvillagekeeper@mashupnashville.org.
